Each car has a solid knurled brass roller that is covered with the pre-cut absorbent cleaning material shipped with each unit. Replacement roller covers can be ordered from your local Centerline dealer, or supplied yourself -- we utilize commonly available materials such as Handi Wipes™.

A cleaning solution -- we recommend GOO GONE or other solvent-based fluid -- is applied to the absorbent roller cover. As the cleaning car is pushed around the track, friction causes the roller to slip over the surface of the rails, scrubbing the rails without snagging, and leaving just enough residual fluid to clean the wheels of following cars and locomotives.
