In May of 2007 Bill and Lilli Moffit of Reno, Nevada, bought the assets of Centerline Products from the Websters of Marengo, Illinois. The line of wheel and track cleaners developed in the early 1990’s was marketed by the Websters at a variety of train shows and through a network of retailers world wide.
The assembly, office, and associated processes have been moved to Reno, Nevada, where activities will be run.
The Moffits have run a train store in Reno since 1998, and so are not new to the hobby and the associated events, associations, and magazines.
The warranty, refund and discount policies established at Centerline Products years ago are not being changed as they have done well over the years.
Between the early 1990’s and the sale of the company, there were 3 price changes which have effected the whole wheel and track cleaner line, the last a 40% increase. The last increase was put in place as one of several actions to close down the company. One of the first actions taken by the new owners was to roll back that increase to a 5% – 7.5% increase over the 2006 price.
